It's a great verse, with a great message. Not fond of that particular translation in this instance, though. The first part is great, but then, in order to apply the second part, you have to ask yourself: what things does Christ preside over? The answer is everything: Bible study, community, alcoholism, and hell. Should we really pursue all things?

It reminds me of the controversy that surrounded the book "The DaVenci Code." That too was a fiction that everyone flipped out over. I think it is important to understand the trinity from what the Bible says about it, not from what some man had interpreted to be. I have never read the book, so I cannot say anything for or against it. However I can say that sometimes the label "fiction" is just a scapegoat used so that authors can say whatever they feel like with out being accountable for it. Its like the "JK" of the literary world. If people would just READ the BIBLE a lot of things would be clearer. And to those who say "its to hard to understand" maybe you do not understand it because you are not reading it through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and if such is the case maybe you should seriously evaluate your salvation. As a Christian I CRAVE the Words of the Lord. And it's a craving that can only be filled through His Word. That is a craving and longing that has echoed throughout history. The Bible says to "long for the pure spiritual milk of the word." 1 Peter 2:2 (kjv) Its like trying to talk to someone you don't know. Very, very awkward.

I've read the book and I can say with absolute conviction that this gentlemen completely missed the point of the book. It is not an "explanation" of the Trinity, or an endorsement of God as a woman. In fact, to each of these arguments the exact opposite is true. Regardless, the book is a story about healing and restoration, and the unexplainable, unimaginable, and indescribable power of God. The "images" of God are no more "graven", than my child's drawings of God to illustrate their stories; which, by this the speakers interpretation of the Commandment, are heretical also. Anyway, its a fantastic book, well worth reading.
