Tribecca Update – 12 days

I am down at the beach visiting my parents, because I will probably not get to see them until I get back from NYC. I can not believe that Sunday will be my last Sunday at Discovery for 6 Weeks! I will have a chance to check out some pretty cool churches in NYC, but there is no place like home. If you know of any churches I need to check out while I am up there let me know. I would love to find a church that has the same creative vibe Discovery has. I know one Sunday I will be attending Redeemer Presbyterian because their pastor has written one of the Bible studies we will be doing while we are up there.

The team I am going up to NYC with is amazing. Especially the guys from North Carolina!

They introduced me to this video while I was up in Gatlinburg. Amazing… You gotta watch the whole thing (or at least the first 2 mins)

Do you think we can get him for Discovery?

Wow…

There are so many lessons that I can draw from this… Especially if you have ever watched the MTV show Super Sweet Sixteen. Can yall come up with any lessons from this?

Questioning Evangelism – Part 1

I just finished reading part 1 of Questioning Evangelism! Aren’t yall proud of me?

So far a lot of really interesting stuff. The main concept of chapter one was “Rabbinic Evangelism.” Basically it talks about following Jesus’ model of asking questions in response to questions.

I am in part two now… hopefully I will be able to go back and better articulate some of Randy Newman’s concepts then I am doing right now. I am excited on what the rest of the book has to offer. So far it has given some awesome situations I have found myself in before.

Living Room – Part 3

For this weeks message we are trying out a new video host – Viddler. We hope that it will work better with computer filters like safe eyes. If you would like to catch up – Week 1 and Week 2 are also on Viddler as well.

Tribecca Reading

I have a reading assignment for Tribecca. It is Randy Newman’s Book “Questioning Evangelism”. I am horrible at committing to read books, so I am going to try to use the blog as a catalyst for my reading. I hope to summarize chapters and highlights in different post. I have 17 days to read the book so if you don’t get a post about the book hit me up a comment and tell me to get on the ball! The book looks pretty interesting. I am actually looking forward to it.

I’m glad I booked Delta…

Last night I reserved tickets for the North Carolina crew going up to NYC for the Tribecca Project.

There were 18 times we could depart RDU, but the time that worked best was on Delta. I normally fly American, but I am glad I did not.

I was already not happy over all the airlines charging $25 to check a second bag. I just flew to Cali in March and did not have to pay for my second bag… I always check a second bag when I fly.

Just when I had gotten over the $25 fee… I learn that American is going to be charging $15 for the first bag. This is really going to speed up check in… not really. With everybody having to pay there is now going to be a check out to go along with check in.

I’m just thankful I am flying US Air to Colorado and then Delta to NYC.

Tribecca Update

Time is winding down! I will be in NYC before I know it. I am very thankful for all of the people who have stepped up and became financial partners for Tribecca.

So far I have currently raised 80% of my support that goes to Campus Crusade. I still have to purchase my airfare as well. I am booking the airfare for the North Carolina kids so we can all travel together (they are paying me back). One of the girls has NEVER flown before! She was thinking about taking the train, but the arrivals for it REALLY don’t work well. Plane tickets are right now about $250 bucks each. I think it would be amazing if somebody felt led to support the North Carolina project goers by donating $1000 to cover our airfare! That would really be a blessing for them – many of the NC people have not raised as much support as I have.

Our briefing in Gatlinburg was absolutely amazing. The people who are going on this project are awesome. Everybody is pumped up for the upcoming summer!

If you are planning on partnering with me financially please do so before May 31st when my support is due. Please continue to lift the project up in prayer. We are praying for God to do BIG things this summer!

Getting Ready…

Its 11 days before I begin my crazy summer travel schedule. Denver June 2nd-8th and then NYC on June 10th. I can’t believe I only have 2 more Sundays at Discovery before the craziness begins. I WILL be back for DC’s Sunday service on July 20th. So this means I have to get folks trained to run the lights and record the service on thursday! To help folks out with I am going to make a movie following me around set up, pre service, and during the service. Claude gave me a need tool for my B-day which is really going to help me out. Check it out…

Relaxing Dinner!

After a trip to blockbuster to exchange some movies that I have kept for 4 MONTHS! I tried cooking some Chicken Teriyaki in a skillet instead of on the grill. I wanted to change things up a little bit. Sometimes the george forman can dry it out and not let the Teriyaki absorb as much. The chicken did well cooking in the skillet with just the Teriyaki Marinade. Can you see that I was excited? I exchanged 3 flicks at Blockbuster for Juno, Chronicles of Narnia, and Across the Universe. ALL IN BLU RAY HD! I am going to try my best to never rent a DVD again. Lot of good flicks out on blu ray… I just have not had time. As I said – I had kept my last set of movies for 4 months!
